8th Swiss Orthogeriatrics Day 2026 in Winterthur

Dear OGD Community,

The 7th Swiss Orthogeriatrics Day in September 2025 was a great success and clearly demonstrated how vibrant and dedicated Switzerland’s geriatric orthopedics community is. Around 150 participants from 16 cantons gathered at the USZ to discuss the latest developments and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration. The event demonstrated that only by working together can all disciplines untangle the “Gordian knot” of complex challenges in geriatric orthopedics—for the benefit of our patients.

Look forward to the 8th OGD at the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital and an exciting, diverse program focusing on geriatric orthopedics and joint replacement in older adults. The program will center on current issues in elective joint replacement in older adults, the treatment of periprosthetic fractures, and interdisciplinary preparation and follow-up care. Special highlights include two keynote presentations on the feasibility and acceptability of joint replacement in the very elderly, and on risk stratification in geriatric orthopedics. The program is complemented by practical workshops, engaging case discussions, and ample opportunities for exchange and networking.

We are already looking forward to welcoming you on September 15, 2026, to the 8th Swiss Orthogeriatrics Day at the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital (KSW).
